  3. AboutRisk-BasedAuthentication • Risk-Based Authentication (RBA) evaluates the risk of a login transaction and identifies if an increased level of authentication is required. If the transaction is considered low risk, the user is directed to their desired application. Similarly, if the transaction is considered high risk, the user is prompted for another level of authentication beyond their user ID and password. What is Risk-Based Authentication? The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has taken additional measures to protect users' personal information. RBA has been implemented in order to help ensure that the identity of users is protected on state agency sites. • Whyisthechange • needed?

  4. Business Partners RBA Login

  5. BP User – RBA Login User must have a valid email address in order to successfully log into the application as a Business Partner user. Click the Business Partner Login link. NOTE: Depending on which application you are accessing, you may be presented with a selector screen like above. Please select your employee type at this screen

  6. BP User – RBA Login Enter your user credentials on the login screen. Click Login.

  7. BP User – RBA Login • Enter the security code that was sent to your registered email address. • The code will be sent from the following send only address: automatedemailDONOTREPLY@pa.gov • Click Next. Note: If the security code is entered incorrectly five times, your account will be locked. You will need to contact the help desk to unlock it. This security code will expire after one hour. If your code expires, you will have to repeat steps one through three in order to receive a new security code.

  8. BP User – RBA Login • Select either public or private based on the criteria below: • SelectPrivateifyouarelogginginfromyourpersonallaptop. • You will not be prompted for RBA again for 12 hours. • SelectPublicifyouarelogginginfromanypubliccomputersuchasalibraryorahotelbusinesscenter.

  9. BP User – RBA Login Login is complete. Note: Your session will remain active until you close your browser or log off from the application.

  11. Frequently Asked Questions Q: How long is my Security Code valid? A: Your security code is valid up to one hour. A security code is sent to your registered email address upon every login attempt. You are required to use the security code from your latest email. Q: Why am I not being prompted for RBA? A: If you have labeled your device as private, you will not be asked to enter a security code on that device for 12 hours after you login. If the problem persists, please ensure that you have closed all of your browser windows to end your active session in order to be prompted for RBA.
