  4. Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) • A Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) is a contract reached as a result of negotiations between the employees’ organization and the management • It was the intention of the negotiating parties to meet the interests of both sides

  5. Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) • Sets forth both procedural and substantive rights of Employees’ Organization and Management

  6. Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) • Both parties have vested interests, rights and obligations under a CNA. • Both the management and the employees’ organization have agreed the stipulations must in good faith.

  7. Responsibilities of the Management • Comply with provisions of agreement. • Understand what the agreement means. • Enforce provisions of the contract.

  8. Responsibilities of the Employees’ Organization • Conveyed and negotiated on behalf of the employees it represents. • Acted for and negotiated the agreements covering all employees in the negotiating unit.

  9. Responsibilities of the Employees’ Organization • Fulfil the duty of fair representation. • Promote employees’ organization objectives, values and goals. • Keep members informed about employees’ organization policies, activities and would be amendments.

  10. As a partner of management in policy-making, policy-implementation and policy-monitoring;

  11. Responsibilities of the Employees’ Organization • Financial Safeguards. Officers have a duty to manage the funds and property of the employees’ organization solely for its benefit as well as its members in accordance with the union’s CBL.

  12. Responsibilities of the Employees’ Organization The employees’ organization must provide accounting and financial controls to assure fiscal integrity.

  13. Responsibilities of the Employees’ Organization • Prohibition of Conflicts of Interest. An officer or employee may not have any monetary or personal interest, or engage in any business or financial transaction that would conflict with his or her obligation to the employees’ organization.

Responsibilities of the Employees’ Organization • Keep members informed about would be amendments on the CNA or agency’s policies. • Use several ways to communicate with members, such as face-to-face, surveys, meetings, newsletter, etc. • Urge members to attend and participate at employees’ organization meetings

Responsibilities of the Employees’ Organization • Promote workplace Health and Safety • Employees’ organization plays an important role in improving bottom-up communication in order to increase commitment of employees in meeting the agency’s objectives. • Comply with the statutory requirements such as registration, among others.

  16. CHANGE YOUR VOCABULARYBo Sanchez You need to learn a new kind of vocabulary.  Instead of saying, “I have some failures,” say, “I have some lessons.”  Instead of saying, “I have some problems,” say, “I have some hidden blessings.”

Instead of saying, “I’m going through a crisis,” say, “I’m going through a transformational experience.”  Instead of saying, “I don’t have money,” say, “I’m temporarily broke but the blessings are on the way.” If you want to change your life, you need to change your talk. CHANGE YOUR VOCABULARY
