  2. Issues discussed about media are • Are they free? • Are they watch dogs? • Are they doing good business? • Are they powerful? • Are they trust worthy?

  3. Indian media are on firm footing in so far as growth is concerned but there are many worrying facts when it comes to ethical issues. N RAM Editor in chief The Hindu.

  4. Press council of India has proved to be inadequate to meet the challenge of paid news. The council was unable to publish its own enquiry report on paid news.

  5. Media should function on the template of truth telling, independence, justice and humanness. But our moral universe has shrunk.

  6. There is the need to protect journalists against intimidation by the state.

  7. Time has come for a concentrated effort to retrieve media as a public space and to expand public interest - P. Sainath

  11. People who are in news in Radia tapes are now saying that they contacted her only as a source of news. It is a blatant lie -TJS George
