  4. Abstract • We can observe the use of technology in interior design field over the last few years. The development of software has transformed the way that building is designed or built. Designing in virtual reality achieve more realistic virtual environment, which brings designers and clients closer than before. Virtual design expands our vision and imagination. Virtual reality is a way to create a computer- generated environment that immerses the user into a virtual world.

  5. Introduction • When you construct a house, it’s not just an investment of money; it is years of hard work put together to built a home of dreams for the years to come. So, when people built their house, every detail is looked into with precision. From architects to interior designers to vastu experts, everyone is consulted and then a sketch is made. However, what you visualise is not always what you get. During the construction, often things go haywire and you have to make do with what’s done. Using virtual reality technology, architects and interior designers are able to show their clients exactly how they are changing the property and homeowners can see with their own eyes how finished their project will look.

What is virtual reality? • Virtual reality is an artificial environment that is created with software and presented to the user in such a way that the user suspends belief and accepts it as a real environment. The simplest form of virtual reality is a 3D image that can be explored interactively at a personal computer, usually by manipulating keys or the mouse so that the content of the image moves in some direction or zooms in or out.

  7. Role in Interior Designing. • The efficient use of space, user well-being and functional designs the contribution of designers in the society. The industry has therefore demanded interior designers with more focused expertise. With skill-sets pertaining to the consideration of interior structures, materials, planning, ergonomics, facilities management, lighting, plumbing and fixtures within the building. Interior must therefore be conversant in a variety of disciplines across architecture and decoration and being well versed in dealing with plumbers, electronics, contractors, woodworks, manufacturers, city planners and government officials. • Historically, hand drawings with great drawing skills were used to be approved but these were time taking, costly, and process of trial and error so different softwares were made to solve these problems. These sofwares drafts exactly what designers want to in 2D or IN 3D.
