  2. Intro • The Somali Republic formerly known as the Somali Democratic Republic, is a country located in the Horn of Africa. Since the outbreak of the Somali Civil War in 1991 there has been no central government control over most of the country's territory. • The internationally recognized Transitional Federal Government controls only a small part of the country. Somalia has been characterized as a failed state and is one of the poorest and most violent states in the world. • Somalia has been accused of supporting terrorism because it has been harbouring terrorist organisation such as Al-shabab and al-Qaeda. • Somali has an openly good relationship with Al-qaeda and has been linked to several training camps situated in the northern region of Somalia puntland . This is the reason why Somalia has been accused of supporting terrorism.

Terrorist Actions • Somali has been accused of training holy warriors in the Somalia region punt land, • Since Somalia is a failed state its is very hard to stop terroist etc, which is the reason why so many terrorist organizations see Somalia as a haven. Former members of the ICU who also had links to al-qaeda, broke away & formed AL shaabab after its removal from power by Ethiopian forces in 2006 , • Al shabbab is an Islamist insurgent group fighting to overthrow the government of Somalia. As of summer 2010, the group is said to control most of the southern and central parts of Somalia, including a large part of the capital, Mogadishu,  Estimates of al-Shabaab's strength, as of December 2008, vary between 3,000 to 7,000.

  4. Constitute as a Terrorist State • Even though Somalia has been constituted as a terrorist state for a number of reason such as the fact that they train , harbour and arm terrorists • Somalia is a failed state and its is quite hard to adamantly suggest or constitute Somalia as a terrorist state. • As 75 % of Somalia has been occupied by Al-shabab it could literally be called a ‘terrorist state’

Present • The somalian civil War continues to rage on, and has been going on for 2 decades now as all shaabab attempts to take over the country , many of the people in somali have moved towards the coast beginning a life of pirating, Many believe that piracy off the coast of Somalia is caused in part by illegal fishing and the dumping of toxic waste in Somali waters by foreign vessels that have, according to Somali fishermen, severely constrained the ability of locals to earn a living and forced many to turn to piracy .
