  2. Christmas Shoebox Appeal Last Christmas 180,000 children received a gift-filled shoebox from Ireland ! For many of them it was the only Christmas present they received + =

  3. Where do your boxes go? • Eastern Europe Romania, Moldova, Eastern Croatia, Armenia and Ukraine • Africa • Burundi, Congo, Rwanda, Lesotho, and Swaziland

  4. What can I put in my box? • WRITE something to write with • WASH something to wash with • WEAR something to wear • WOW ! Something to go ‘wow’ at !

  5. What can I put in my box? • WriteItems for school – a pen, pencil, sharpener, eraser, copy book, paper, colouring book, felt pens, solar calculator • Most of the children who will get • your boxes don’t have any of these !

  6. What can I put in my box? • WashSomething to wash with – a toothbrush and toothpaste, facecloth, comb, • soap (wrapped), hairbrush When you don’t have enough money to buy food, all of these are luxuries

  7. What can I put in my box? • WearSomething to wear – small clothing items like a hat, gloves, scarf, socks They love them – even in Africa !

  8. What can I put in my box? • A treat to go Wow at !- sunglasses, sweets, make up, a small musical instrument, a toy, a yo-yo, your photo

  9. What NOT to put in my box? food medicine war related items large clothing items liquids anything breakable sharp items books with words

  11. A school in Swaziland

  12. An orphanage in Ukraine

  13. A community in Burundi
