  2. Colossians 1:15-20 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. 

  3. Colossians 1:15-20 He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.

  4. Colossians 1:15-20 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.

  5. Creation in Colossians • 7 Times the Language “Creation” or “Created” is used in the Text. • It is the “First Born of all Creation,” that is the focus of the Text. • Christ is not only the First and God’s agent in creation, but also gives coherence to the universe.

  6. All Things Held Together • “To Hold” συνίστημιis Translated in the KJV as “Consist” • Other Definitions Include: - Formed Out Of - Exist - Stand With Luke 9:32 - They saw his glory and the two men who stood with him.

  7. Togetherness in Peace • Christ’s Death on the Cross Creates Togetherness • He Holds Together the Body as the Head • He is the Means of Bringing all Creation Back into Harmony or Peace with God.

  8. The Good News We are not alone! You are not Alone! But Held Together through Christ & at Peace with God in the Cross!
