  33. Data Analysis Get ready – what do you know already? Identify areas for comparison. Examine trends and relationships. Identify and define problem areas. Develop intervention strategies. Evaluate – plan progress monitoring (benchmark testing) to determine the effectiveness of intervention strategies.

  34. Trends Has one area been consistently weak over the past three years? Has one area been consistently strong every year? Do there appear to be relationships between data? Do there appear to be relationships between student performance and instructional practices . . . teacher experience . . . class size? Are there patterns with grades levels?

  35. Identify Inconsistencies Identify test scores inconsistent with the course grade. Identify large score discrepancies in a particular area from year to year? Are there any surprises in the data? Identify score discrepancies between teaching teams or teachers?

  36. StrategiesObtainable / sustainable solutions within our control. What intervention strategies are being used or planned already? What would yield the most immediate results or changes? What factors are in our control?

  37. Tomorrow’s Session • Share and discuss your AYP report • Discuss trends identified for your school • What are the implications? • Share strategies and solutions for improvement this upcoming year. Each school will report out their information.
