BALOCHISTAN EARTHQUAKE UPDATE AS ON 01 JAN 2009 Losses / Compensation Provision of Relief Items • Dead/ InjuredCompensation Disbursed • Dead - 164 Rs. 29.5 M (59 Case) • Injured - 173 Rs. 22.5 M (150 Cases) Houses Damaged • Complete/Major - 5190 Rs. 1739.15 M (4969 Houses) • Partially - 2287 Rs. 98.95 M (1979 Houses) • Minor - 2305 Rs. 20.37 M (1358 Houses) TotalRs. 1910.47 Million (92.14 %) Employment of Mil/ CAF Resources & Civil Admin • Manpower • 2165 x all ranks committed. 500 persons ex police employed • 28 x Medical Teams engaged (18x from Govt of Balochistan), 5 x Static Clinic and 2 x Tertiary Hospital • 1 x ADS ex Army &3x Medical Team ex Army & CAF • 31 x Team ex Army carried out damage assessment survey • Material • 26 x C-130 and 15 x Helicopters arrived carrying relief goods • Medicines, medical stores & 19xAmbulances with emergency kits • 9 x Dozer, 5xTransporter, 3x Excavators, 3 FE Loaders Donations • * 1550 x Winterized tents committed by Rotary Club, 1000 by Salvation Army,2991 by PRCS/ICRC, 2500 by IFRC and 500 by CARE International. So far 4425 Winterized Tents have been distributed. • £ Contribution of Shelters by NGOs / INGOs. So far 3147 Shelters have been erected and 3247 distributed. • Construction of shelters by different organizations is in progress.
