Einhaupl et al (the Lancet 1991) • “randomised, blinded, placebo-controlled trial” • 20 patienten , angiografische diagnose • Heparine iv (bolus 3000 IU, daarna 25000-65000 IU, gedoseerd op geleide PT) of placebo (zoutinfuus) • 1° outcome: klinische toestand na 3 mnd • 2° outcome: intracraniele bloeding (CT-screening)

De Bruijn / Stam (Stroke 1999) • “randomised, blinded, placebo-controlled trial” • 59 patienten, angiografische of MRI/A diagnose • Nadroparine (=fraxiparine) 180 IE/kg/24 uur in 2 injecties sc. gedurende 3 weken, of placebo. Nadroparinebehandeling wordt na 3 weken voortgezet met Sintrom gedurende 10 weken. • 1° outcome: Barthelindex na 3 weken (blind), Oxford handicapscale na 12 weken (niet-blind) • 2° outcome: symptomatische intracraniele bloeding

  8. Conclusie Behandeling van sinustrombose met antistolling : Er is niet meer dan een, weliswaar duidelijke, trend naar een risicoreductie van overlijden/afhankelijkheid
