  1. Connectivity Convention Universal splice enclosures for Skanova/TeliaSonera, Sweden Telecom Nordic & Baltics Product Presentation

  2. Connectivity Convention Background TE has a long relationship with Skanova/TeliaSonera and several products approved for the copper network. We are recognized for high quality and technical knowledge. Until 2010 no TE (or ADC/Krone) fiber products were approved by Skanova (part of former incumbant TeliaSonera) due to mainly ribbon compability issues. 2010 Skanova started an ambitiuos FTTH roll-out and supported actively TE’s efforts to enter the fiber area. As the first and still only non-Swedish manufacturer TE have a range of splice enclosures approved by Skanova.

  3. Connectivity Convention Process We invited Skanova to join the project with the goal to be able to offer products that would meet and exceed Skanova’s hard requirements and with attractive softer values such as CAPEX (direct and indirect) and OPEX as we believed this would be in-line with their plans to go FTTH in volumes. Skanova was involved at PM level in several meetings during the process which took approximately 1,5 year. Skanova installers (outsourced) worked as soundboard during the process. Requirements from other important customers was taken into account when possible.

  4. Connectivity Convention Products (as direct result from project) Boxes for street cabinets (splice only) BUDI-1S/S/M-UNI are based on BUDI family but with a new universal splice tray*. Integrated storage basket. Closure FOSC-FC-UNI is based on FIST-GCO2-FC base and dome but with new universal splice tray*. Integrated storage basket. * New universal splice tray FOSC-UNI splice tray developed to handle both ribbon (R4&R8) and single fibers is used in several products. Accessories Modified cable seal kits to fit all cables in use by Skanova (slotted core a o). MOBRAs Tube-kit

  5. Connectivity Convention Results Spin-offs In addition to the products from the project we are constantly expanding the range of approved products: large closure (FOSC-400D), small boxes (FTUO, BUDI-2S). Metro/Utility/OLO customers are using the products based on input from installers. Foundation for growth Our products are being installed in many FTTH projects and in the daily business by several installers and in different regions. The most important result is that the projects has established TE in short term in the very competitive and mature Swedish fiber market. There is a big difference in the relationships with customers and installers. TE Telecom Networks is now a part of the Swedish fiber market in a way we never was before and we get invited and involved in discussions, projects etc from different levels at customers.
