  2. Who is the Opposite player? • Universal Technique or right side hitter • Attacker - very good and versatile hitter • Defense – can offset the outsider hitter of the opponents • Plays opposite to the setter in rotation • Jack-of-all-trade

  3. Physical Qualities • Good height • Good endurance • Good coordination • Good hands and arm swing • Quick foot work- and action • Strong vertical jumper • Must be agile

  4. Mental Qualities • Have good concentration • They must not be easily frustrated • Cope well with anxiety and game pressure

  5. Roles and Responsibilities • Hitting back sets from both the front and back-row • Handling the ball when the setter receives the first contact • Playing right front defense • Blocking the other team’s outside hitter • Have good communication skills • Good serve reception- but concentrate on hitting • Be smart, accurate and consistent • Have good ball handling skills

  6. Technical Qualities • Good blocking skill • Good passer • Good hitter (front and back row) • Must have good timing
