  3. PROJECT MATAHARI A Service Learning Experience Service Learning is enhancement of CIP. In CIP, students carry out services to the community. In Service Learning, students do reflection after carrying out services to the community

  4. PROJECT MATAHARI A Service Learning Experience • Project Matahari will enable students to: • be aware of the needs of the community • contribute to the needs of the community • support the community, thus contributing to the growth of Singapore

  5. PROJECT MATAHARI After much discussion our group decided to help out THE LOVING HEART- a voluntary organisation located at Jurong East.

  6. PROJECT MATAHARI What is the LOVING HEART Loving Heart Multi-service Centre ( Jurong Central) is a newly set up charitable organization. It is funded by private donors and organizations. They offer various community based assistance, programmes and services to the 15,000 households in Jurong Central Division of Jurong GRC Their Services and Programmes include: Free food ration Free tuition Counselling Services Hospice Care Sport tuition and Mentoring Programme.

  9. PROJECT MATAHARI On March 2008 we went To the Loving Heart to help making flowers pen for Donors Night. We learnt new skill and Enjoyed ourselves working as a team. Now we can create our own flowers for Hari Raya,Chinese New Year, Deepavali etc. THE MAKING OF FLOWERS PEN TO RAISE FUND AT THE LOVING HEART March 2008

  11. PROJECT MATAHARI What do I learn ? I enjoy working working with Loving Heart because it has changed a lot the way I think about Community Service. I am more willing to help the community as I realised that there is still a lot of people who needed help Azwani It also help me to get to know my classmates better and strengthens our bonding as friends

  12. PROJECT MATAHARI What do I learn ? I think Project Matahari is a good move. I learnt how lucky I am compared to many Others.It has taught me to be more Compassionate, helpful and forgiving. Amruth

  14. PROJECT MATAHARI What do I learn ? I felt happy as I could at least help people who did not have enough money. EDNA CHEW BOON YEEN During Project Matahari, I realised that people will always need a helping hand, no matter Who they are.
