  1. ROMANS 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

  2. Now this is quite the topic. One that I have done a great deal of keen study about. But also one that has Christendom sharply divided. But tonight as I write this post I cannot be concerned about that. All that matters to me, is what does the Bible say?

  3. Did Jesus have Mary's DNA or not? Well Paul said that Jesus "was made of the seed of David according to the flesh" Romans 1:3.

  4. Let's look at what Catholicism claims about my question are for just a moment.

  5. They answer, 'Yes, Jesus had Mary's DNA,' however they teach that Mary was immaculately conceived, and didn't have any of our sinful nature in her.

  6. Catholics believe that when Mary gave birth to Christ, he didn't have any of our sinful DNA in his fleshly body. The Bible didn't stop with Mary, and say that “Jesus was made according to the flesh according to Mary”

  7. Rather the Bible says: Jesus, "was made of the seed of David according to the flesh" Romans 1:3.

  8. So let's ask my question again a slightly different way? Did Jesus have the DNA of King David in Him? The Bible's answers is an emphatic YES!

  9. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  Romans 8:3

  10. Jesus overcame the flesh that He inherited from King David. He lived a life above reproach, and without sin.

  11. Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.  Romans 9:5

  12. This after all was the first promise ever made to mankind after the fall back in the Garden of Eden.

  13. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.  Genesis 3:15

  14. Was Jesus born from the seed, of fallen Eve? Did Jesus have her DNA? According to God's promise, the answer is YES!

  15. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  John 1:14

  16. Here is what we know about the incarnation of Jesus Christ.

  17. The Holy Spirit  miraculously conceived in Mary the baby Jesus. When she gave birth, Mary was still a virgin!

  18. In miraculous fashion God blended Himself with the seed of Mary, and she conceived a baby, who was in fact God manifest in the flesh.

  19. Can we scientifically explain exactly how this happened? • No of course not.

  20. This is one of the grand mysteries of the Bible.

  21. But the virgin birth of Christ is one of the core requirements of scripture that we are asked to believe, in order to • inherit eternal life.

  22. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.  1 Timothy 3:16

  23. According to scripture, Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. So it becomes a perplexing thing to consider when we ask the questions posed today.

  24. Yes, Jesus is God, and yes He was manifest in the flesh. He truly did suffer hunger during his 40 day fast. He truly did suffer agony when he was crucified on the cross.

  25. Hebrews 2:16-18 16  For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17  Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18  For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

  26. Yes, that is right! Jesus truly was tempted, by the devil in the wilderness. This is a mystery. The Bible says that God cannot be tempted, and yet Jesus "himself hath suffered being tempted."

  27. That is one of the beauties of the Gospel message that Jesus was born to mankind, that God so loved us that He gave His Son to us, to die for us.

  28. When Jesus became a man, He retained in His fullness His Godhood. he was 100% the Son of God, and at the same time 100% the Son of man.

  29. Science cannot explain it. Philosophy cannot reason out every aspect of this mystery. Theologians and the best Bible writers cannot explain it.

  30. All that we can do is quote the Bible, and say, “Yes sir! I believe it!”

  31. But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,  Galatians 4:4

  32. One might ask, what does it matter what • I believe?

  33. Well according to the Bible, it matters a great deal, in fact what you believe about this subject is a matter of eternal life, and eternal death.

  34. 1 John 4:2-3 • 2  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: • 3  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

  35. We do not need to fully understand, or have the ability to fully explain the great mysteries of the Bible, however we do have to believe them, in order to inherit God's promises to us.

  36. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.  2 John 1:7

  37. Did Jesus come in the flesh? He most certainly did! Was Jesus made of the flesh according to the seed of fallen Eve, and King David, Solomon and the rest of the genealogy tree in Matthew 1 and Luke 3? He certainly was!

  38. Because of that Jesus was also born of the seed of Ruth, the Moabites. • And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obedof Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;  Matthew 1:5

  39. Ruth was not a Jew, rather she was a Gentile! When Jesus gained victory over the flesh, he paid the price for the sins of all mankind, both Jew an Gentile alike.

  40. Jesus victory over the flesh gave Him the legal precedent to redeem us all.

  41. Next time you read about the stories in the Books of Kings, and Chronicles, remember that all those kings, both good and bad where the ancestors of Jesus Christ,

  42. When Jesus was born, He was born of their seed, and was temped in all points as they were, yet without sin!
