File Types • Bitmap • .tif – uncompressed (or not), pages, layers • .bmp – uncompressed • .png – compressed, lossless • .jpg – highly compressed, lossy • .gif – highly compressed, lossy, indexed • .xcf – GIMP’s format • .psd – Abode Photoshop’s format • Vector • .svg – open standard • .ai – Adobe Illustrator’s format

  7. Image Size 113 px • Generally rectangular • Image size is expressed in pixels (px): • To resize: Image > Scale Image 150 px

  10. Colors • RGB model represents colour as mix of: • Red • Green • Blue • Each colour ranges from 0 (off) to 255 (on) • HTML notation uses hexidecimal
