Anthony Joshua, the former two-time unified heavyweight world champion lost a match against Oleksandr Usyk for the second time in August.   3. His Early Life Anthony Joshua was born in 1989 in Watford, Hertfordshire. His parents Yeta and Robert Joshua are Nigerian. His cousin, Ben Ileyemi, is also a professional boxer. Both brothers made their professional boxing debuts together in 2013. Joshua spent his childhood studying in a Mayflower school which is a boarding school in Ikenne. He was just 12 years old when his parents got separated and he returned to the UK and started his schooling at Kings Langley Secondary School. Since his school days, he has always been an athlete and excelled at every sport, like football. Olympic Gold Medalist It was in the year 2012 when Anthony Joshua represented Great Britain in The London 2012 Summer Olympics. He defeated Roberto Cammarelle, an Italian amateur boxer to win the Olympic gold medal as a super heavyweight. Roberto Cammarelle and Anthony Joshua’s fight was one of the most interesting boxing matches. His Time in Prison At the first glance, you may think of Anthony Joshua as a person born with good luck and luxury, living a comfortable and proper life. However, this is not true. You will be surprised to know that it was in the year 2009 when Joshua was sent to Reading Prison to spend two weeks on remand for fighting on the streets.
