  4. Credulous (adj) • Gullible; ready to believe anything She was a credulous fool to believe the blatant lies coming from her boyfriend.

  5. Enshroud (v) • To cover; conceal After killing the pup, Lennie enshrouded it in hay.

  6. Haughty (adj) • Proud; snobbish; arrogant The king was too haughty to listen to the advice of his advisors.

  7. Lachrymose (adj) • Tearful; sad The lachrymose funeral deeply affected everyone in attendance.

  8. Obfuscate (v) • Deliberately make something difficult to understand The teacher obfuscated the math problem with additional information to test her students’ skills.

  9. Plethora (n) • An excess; overabundance Due to the plethora of ice cream flavors, I had a difficult time choosing!

  11. Tedium (n) • Boredom Melissa couldn’t stand the tedium of a long road trip with her family.
