  1. Adventures in Computational Thinking By Catherine Rios CSE 3 FLUENCY WITH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (FIT) Visual Programming with Alice Dynamic Webpage Programming with JavaScript Desktop Publishing with MS Word Data Analysis and Visualization with MS Excel Computational Thinking Presentation of Information with MS PowerPoint Making Information Available to the World with HTML and Web Pages Information Technology (IT) fluency including Proficiency with certain computers and computer applications. This course teaches us in… • Becoming Skilled at Information Technology • Algorithms and Digitizing Information • Data and Information Analysis and Presentation • Problem Solving Microsoft word is a great program in which one can do a lot more than simply writing. In this class, we learned how to make include images into word documents, how to wrap text around those images, how to insert footnotes, how to make lists, and how to include tables of content into our work. In doing all of this, we also learned about RBG and CMYK colors, and also created a career plan for personal benefit. In this course we learned about how to make our work and information available on the web for the public to view. In lab 1, we made a website for our career plans and included a list of some coursework we have taken as well as a link to our CSE3 files. In lab 3, we learned how to make a website with a UCSD logo using HTML formatting. Excel has purpose in all areas: planners, organizing finances, graphs, charts, and many endless possibilities. In this class we leaned how to make charts in excel using the comparison in prices and profit/loss in stocks. We also learned to calculate our budget. In doing this we leaned things like merging cells, making pie charts, using percentages and the sum function, and using the “action” column. Using Alice, we were able to create virtual worlds with virtual characters. We leaned how to make frogs jump into a pond through the use of parameters , methods, loops, and so on. We also made a clock work by making its second, minute, and hour hands move.
