During This Presentation • You have props to use! • Important Tests for a Women’s Good Health slide rule • A Lifetime of Good Health: Your Guide to Staying Healthy booklet • To Someone Special: A Bouquet of Good Health from Medicare • 4 Girls Health Pocket Planner • Take one of each and get ready to play!

What Do We Have? • Important Tests for a Women’s Good Health • Age range covered: 18 - 65 years and older • Good for looking up age-specific preventive screening test recommendations and for documenting results and appointments Give Away Exercise #1 (find the answer, yell it out and WIN!) How often should a woman age 40-49 have her blood pressure tested? Personal curiosity (keep this information to yourself): Find one test on the green sheet, one on the pink sheet, and one on the purple that you or a friend or family member should have. Make a note of it.

What Do We Have? • A Lifetime of Good Health: Your Guide to Staying Healthy • Preventive Screenings by Age-Group for women at average risk (18-65+ yrs) • Preventive Screenings by Age-Group for women at high risk (18-65+ yrs) • General guidelines for heart and stroke prevention for women • Warning signs for heart attack and stroke • Additional information on other health conditions and risk factors • Information on how to talk to your doctor or nurse • A place for you to write down your questions for your doctor or nurse • National Centers of Excellence in Women’s Health contact information (includes North and South Dakota projects) • Give Away Exercise #2 (yell out the answer when you find it!):What is the telephone number to call if a person is in danger of violence in the home?

What Do We Have? • To Someone Special: A Bouquet of Good Health from Medicare • Target group: men and women people 65 years of age or older OR some people with disabilities OR people with end-stage renal disease • Welcome to Medicare Preventive Screening services available • Booklet describes new drug benefits available January 1, 2006 • Place to record the name, contact number, and reason for visiting your doctor(s) • Name and contact of your pharmacist • A place to record your medications Give Away Question #3 (next page): Get together with a partner or small group and draw a line between the cause of death in Indian Country in SD and rank.
