  13. The principles of painting • Balance: this is the equilibrium in the arrangement of parts of a painting. There are 3 basic types of balance:- Symmetrical, Asymmetrical and Radial. - Symmetrical: - this is achieved when one half of the painting is the mirror image of the other. -Asymmetrical: - this is when the weight of the elements are equated but not identical - Radial balance: - this emphasis balance at the centre. • -To know the meaning of painting,types of painting and media for painting. The principles of painting • Rhythm: this is the ability to create feelings of movement that leads the eye from one place to another in a piece of painting • Repetition: this is the ability to use and reuse some elements to create a flow and organisation in our painting.   15. The principles of painting • Proportion: this emphasises the size relationship of various elements in the painting • Dominance: this emphsises certain part of the painting.
