  1. Coming to the Java Planet March 29, 2014 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm Four local Chicagoland mystery authors will be here to read from their latest novels and to answer any questions you may have regarding their works, their road to being published, and more. Meet our authors: Gunter Kaesdorf writes mysteries, thrillers and short stories that highlight the aspirations and desires of his characters. Gunter uses his background as an attorney to assure technical authenticity in his work. Although well-traveled, he has resided in the greater Chicago area for most of his life. He and his wife, Barb live in Libertyville. His debut published mystery, Buried Truth, was nominated for the 2014 Lovey Award in the category of Best First Novel. Gunter Kaesdorf After retiring from a long career as a L & D and NICU RN, Sue Myers went from birthing babies to writing about dead bodies. To Sue, this seemed like a logical progression. Sue and her husband, Gene, live in Mundelein with their cats and a backyard full of squirrels, chipmunks and birds. She gave birth to Deception in December 2013, which was nominated for the 2014 Love Award for Best First Novel, and plans to deliver the second book in her series, Revenge, in fall of 2014. Sue Myers J. Michael Major’s novel One Man’s Castle recently won the 2014 Lovey Award for Best First Novel. In a Publisher’s Weekly review, they say a “Genuine talent…Major makes his complex lead a plausible character, and the investigating officers are fully realized as well.” His stories have appeared in such anthologies as Splatterlands and New Traditions in Terror, and magazines such as Hardboiled, Bare Bone, Pirate Writings, and Into the Darkness. He is a dentist by day, and lives with his family in the western suburbs. J. Michael Major M. E. May lives in Lake in the Hills with her husband, Paul and white Husky Iris. Her Circle City Mystery series is now three books strong. The first novel, Perfidy, won the 2013 Lovey Award for Best First Novel; the second, Inconspicuous was nominated for the 2014 Lovey for Best Suspense; and Ensconced released March 8, 2014. Her short story, Uncle Vito and the Cheerleader was published in the anthology, Hoosier Hoops and Hijinx in 2013. M. E. May
