Ephes. 6:18 “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints” 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, [7] casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you.

How Often? • “Pray at all times” – pa: Each, Every Luke 18:1 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, Luke 21:36 “But keep on the alert at all times, praying…” Acts 6:4 “But we will devote ourselves to prayer…” Romans 12:12 Be…devoted to prayer Philip. 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Col. 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; 1 Thes. 5:17 pray without ceasing; 2 Thes. 1:11To this end also we pray for you always that our God may count you worthy of your calling… Col. 1:3 We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, Col. 1:9 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you

Acts 12 – An Example v5 So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God. v7 And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared, and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter's side and roused him, saying, "Get up quickly." And his chains fell off his hands. v13 And when he knocked at the door of the gate, a servant-girl named Rhoda came to answer. v14 And when she recognized Peter's voice, because of her joy she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter was standing in front of the gate.

  8. Acts 12 – An Example v15 And they said to her, "You are out of your mind!" But she kept insisting that it was so. And they kept saying, “It is his angel.” v16 But Peter continued knocking; and when they had opened the door, they saw him and were amazed.

  11. “With All Perserverance” • Sticking To It • Luke 11:9 "And I say to you, ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.” • Key: “Be on the Alert with all Perserverance” • Requires Humility:“For all the saints…” Galatians 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ.
