If this is literal, then… - Heaven is literally in Abraham’s lap - Heaven and hell are within shouting distance - We will enjoy heaven while watching people burn - We will be unable to respond to their pleas for help - We will worship a God who perpetuates this forever

  15. Rich man and Lazarus John 11:45-48 45 Then many of the Jews who had come to Mary, and had seen the things Jesus did, believed in Him. 46 But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them the things Jesus did. 47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, “What shall we do? Jude 1:7 ...as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 2 Peter 2:6 …and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly.

  32. Nahum 1:9-10 9 What do you conspire against the LORD? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time. 10 For while tangled like thorns, and while drunken like drunkards, they shall be devoured like stubble fully dried.

  48. Revelation 19:1-3 1After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
