ON DECK WITH COACH IAN ON DECKJOHN RENNIE SPORTS-ETUDES BASEBALL CONCENTRATION WEEKLY UPDATE WHERE ARE THEY NOW JOSE CANSECO - Jose Canseco was in uniform last week for the Quintana Roo Tigers of the Mexican League. But as quickly as his baseball comeback started, it's coming to an end. Of course, it's for allegedly using a performance enhancing drug. DID YOU KNOW? The question of the origins of baseball has been the subject of debate and controversy for more than a century. Baseball and the other modern bat, ball and running games, cricket and rounders, were developed from earlier folk games. Americans played a version of the English game rounders in the early 19th century which they called "Town Ball." In fact, early forms of baseball had a number of names, including "Base Ball," "Goal Ball " "Round Ball," "Fletch-catch," "stool ball," and, simply, "Base. • PED SUPPORT– When your child is missing training, JRHS reinforces that you must attend PED Support from 1:00-2:00. • ABSENCE– When your child will be absent from training, you must inform Coach Ian.
