  2. Graduation is 5 months away… How do I Finish Strong? • Develop a Plan for the remainder of my year • Check in with my Counselor to stay on track • Apply for Scholarships • Check in with my Recruiter • Develop a “Plan B” and “Plan C” • Pass all of my classes • Tie all loose ends • GRADUATE!

  3. Things that You should know… • What courses you still need to take • How your grades are • What your GPA is • What your test scores are (SAT, ACT, ASVAB, etc…) • If you need to retake anything • Which extra-curricular activities you’re interested in participating in

Did You Know…. • Your grades still matter • Your attendance still matters • Your behavior at school and in the community still matters • Colleges will receive TWO (2) more transcripts from your Counselor (mid-year report and a final transcript) • Colleges can retract an offer after you have been accepted if you do not Finish Strong • You cannot enlist in the Military if you do not successfully complete high school

  5. Graduation Requirements • 4 units of English • 4 units of Math • 3 units of Social Studies • 3 units of Science • 2 Foreign Languages* • 1 unit of Health/PE • 10 additional Electives

  6. Total # of Credits = 27 Credits To Graduate

Ask yourself these questions… • Have I met my graduation requirements? • What does my transcript look like? • When are the next available SAT, ACT, and ASVAB test dates? • Have I submitted any college applications? Are there anymore that I need to submit? • Do I have a current resume? • Have I filled out a Student Information Sheet? • Have a started my FAFSA Application? • Have I asked my teachers and counselors for recommendation letters? • Have I spoken with a Military recruiter? • Have I filled out any job applications?

  8. You should be checking in with your Counselor on a consistent basis throughout the semester to assist you with your post-graduation plans and to make sure that you are on track with your Plan!

  12. What happens after I graduate from college? • If you have received scholarships or grants… You do not owe any money to anyone or company. This money was given to you as a gift to pay for school or books • If you have received loans… Depending on the type of loan you received you will be required to make payment arrangements to return the money in which you have borrowed. Typically you will receive a 2-6 month “grace period” before making payments. People who apply for the most amount of scholarships will typically receive the most amount of FREE money for college!
