  5. Any health system can not function and will not achieve the desired health outcomes without medicines. The availability of affordable and effective drugs is, therefore, one of the most visible indicators of the quality of health services.

  17. P100 GOOD PRACTICES • Delivery of stocks thru RIS • Depot at the Provincial Hospital • Included in the annual procurement program for medicines in the different satellite hospitals • Fund transfer payment scheme

  18. P100 GOOD PRACTICES • Support from the health personnel (Hospitals, RHU’s and ILHZ) • Advocacy / Promotion of P100 thru tri media • All gov’t hospitals are distribution outlets • RHU’s and BNB’s are potential outlets

  19. To date, out of 426 barangays in Oriental Mindoro, there are 344 Botika ng Barangay outlets that are operational (DOH – 1:2) (PHO – 1:1.2) BOTIKA NG BARANGAY PROJECT

  22. ISSUES & CONCERNS • Limited list of medicines • Delivery of P100 medicines • Availability of P100 medicines

  23. RECOMMENDATION • To include other commonly used essential medicines to the present list of P100 medicines • Expand delivery network for P100 medicines • Improve stocks availability of P100 medicines • To assign a DOH Coordinator for P100 at the CHD level

  27. CONCLUSION The national government is expected to provide clear and workable operational structures for extending support, regulatory control, and monitoring performance of LGU in order to insure that quality medicines will be accessible, affordable and available to the people.

SUMMARY • The implementation of P 100 Project is directed towards achieving the following end goals: • Provision of quality and affordable drugs • Better health outcomes • (Effective & Efficient Services) • More responsive health system • (Accessible Essential Drugs) • More equitable health financing • (Sustainability)
