  2. I am interested in cardiology because I think the heart is really interesting. I want to see how it works and the interesting details of the heart. Being able to work with the heart and making it better and making someone else happy and giving them a longer life makes me happy. It just seems like a great field to go into.

  3. Cardiologists specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and intervention of diseases of the heart and cardiovascular system.

  4. Formal education and training requirements for physicians are among the most demanding of any occupation. 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of medical school, and 3 to 8 years of internship and residency, depending on the specialty selected.

  5. Students in high school need to complete physics, biology, mathematics, English, and inorganic and organic chemistry. Students also take courses in the humanities and the social sciences.

  6. Cardiologist must have a bachelor's degree in order to get into medical school. The most logical premed bachelor degrees to acquire include analytical topics such as chemistry, mathematics, engineering or psychology.

  7. Hourly Cardiologist median salary is $105.66 per hour. The lowest 10% earn less than $70.00 per hour and those in the upper 10% earn more than $200.00 per hour. Annually On an annual basis Cardiologist earn $219,770. The lowest 10% earn less than $150,000 per year while the upper 10% earn more than $300,000 per year.  These salaries are calculated as a mean or average.  Some sites report salaries as high as $450,000 for the more successful cardiologist
