  2. Past Year in Numbers • 2012-2013 2011-2012 • Circulation 342,673 293,401 • Patron Visits 208,980 216,474 • Computer use 43,052 31,903 • New Materials 8,614 9,747 • Weeding 2,360 9,567 • New Library Cards 3,769 3,890 • Program attendance 9,329 6,918

What's Popular at the Library? • Electronic materials • eAudiobooks • 3,750 titles last year, 4,182 this year • eBooks • 545 titles the first year, 1,417 titles last year, to 2,295 titles and 2,340 copies today • Circulated 9,888 times in FY 2013 just to Sierra Vista residents • This year to date, eBooks have already circulated 8,434 times • Magazines through Zinio • Freegal, coming soon! • Programs • Children’s Programs averaging around 150 parents and children per week • Added new Spanish language storytime every other week • Adult programs increasing and very well attended, especially those that are part of Journey Stories

  4. Commission Activities • Advised staff on the element of Vista 2030 that includes the library • Added coordinating with Ft. Huachuca to identify and fulfill library needs • Adding identifying ways to cost-effectively expand library services • Advised staff on patron satisfaction survey • Planned and volunteered for week of events for National Library Week • Each day had an event – Friends of the Library book sale, musical programs, movies, author events, and an astronomy event • Staffed booth at Friends of the Library 40th Anniversary event

Highlights of the Survey • ~1,500 responses • 60% of those who took the survey were age 55+ • 60% rated the library excellent, 36% rated it good = 96% • 70% said the library offered a comfortable and inviting space • Adult fiction rated most important part of the collection, followed by adult nonfiction, magazines, DVDs, and eBooks, in that order • Checking out materials was selected by 75% of respondents as the service used most often, followed by the Friends bookstore, the café, and interlibrary loan
