  1. So, You’re thinking of taking FLEX class next year, BUT…

  2. What exactly is this FLEX class, anyway?!?

  3. FLEX class is... a Foreign Language Exploratory class. (Sometimes called “Exploratory Foreign Language”)

  4. We will be exploring foreign languages!

  5. In this class we will… •Investigate different types of communication •Investigate the history of spoken languages • Develop skills to master a foreign language

  6. We will communicate in… Sign Language German Latin French Spanish

  7. In these languages, we will both speak and write: • Greetings • Numbers • Simple conversations • Family vocabulary • Object vocabulary (classroom objects, clothing, foods, etc.)

  8. Additionally we will… • Identify countries where French, German, and Spanish are spoken • Investigate the cultures of each language and compare them to our own

  9. And… • Learn to sign the Pledge of Allegiance, “tour” Ancient Rome, listen to famous German musicians, eat German food, “tour” a French art gallery, and have a fiesta!
