  1. Also:Tori PeacockPuyaJafari Symbolic Interactionism Power-pointby: Chris Romano “I am not what I think I am. I am not what you think I am. I am what I think that you think I am.” A psychological theory that attempts to explain how individuals chose how they will act based on their perceptions of themselves and of others. major sociological perspectives place emphasis on micro-scalesocial interaction, which is particularly important in the different field such as urban sociology and social psychology. Quote by: Charles Cooley

  2. George Herbert Mead FurtherDeveloped How people act towards interactions based on the meaning that these interactions have for them; and these meanings are derived from social interactions and modified through interpretation ... what?  qualitative research methods, like participation observation are used to study aspects of  social interaction and/or individuals themselves.

  3. What are some of the main areas of focus? - All individual develops themselves as two parts: the “me” part that consists of qualities of the individual: his height, sex, and occupation. - the “I” which are awareness of thy self. Such as (good student, shy, lonely.) - take the attitude of others; Body language, tone, intonation, and the words spoken are all vital for the basis of human interaction. -A common language must be used for effective communication with common symbols. One must make their interactions have meaning, or else they are misunderstood. - They also must relate to personal experience of self, in order to interact in relationships. (friendly)

  4. Basic Concepts and Principles Basic communication method of human interaction When interaction occurs:The human brain processes all of this information at an extremely speedy rate. This occurs without knowledge that it is even happening. Meaning must be placed onto words with emphasis before a response can be formatted. Body language, tone, facial expression, intonation, and the words spoken are all one unit.

  5. Real World Example: When a gesture has the same meaning for both, the two parties understand each other. It signifies what the person is to do to the intended person; it signifies what the person who is making the gesture intends to do; and it signifies the joint action that is to arise by the articulation of the acts of both.

  7. Content By PuyaJafari The History of The Family The families parents' dad would understand the son better just as the mother would understand the daughter better. They would have to share ideas to come up with one unique raising method.

  8. Content By PuyaJafari ChildAbuse this family would not abuse their child because they are talkative and try to solve their problems by communication rather than hitting. However, the dad might give his son a little spanking every now and then.

  9. Content By ToriPeacock Human Sexuality Human Sexuality is how an individual expresses themselves as sexual beings. For some, sexuality can be used as a knowledge seeking process, but others use it to show emotion and find pleasure. For people who want to learn more about sexuality it can become a symbol of curiosity and intrigue. Others allow it to be a symbol of love and passion and express feelings of admiration for someone else.

  10. Content By PuyaJafari the Role of Women in the Family the Role of Women in this particular family would be that she would work only part time and spend a lot of time with her children and nurture them.

  11. Adolescent Behaviour the children have an adolescent behaviour because they learn how to communicate with their bodies and tongue, rather than with fists. This is of high importance to be successful in life. Content By PuyaJafari

  12. Content By Tori Peacock Legalizing Marijuana The legalization of marijuana is an extremely controversial topic. People who support the legalization are most likely people who use the drug to get high. These highs can be known as a vacation from life as it gives a person a break from reality. A big stress factor that has recently been escalated is money. The economic downturn has got people starting to feel a pinch and might want a break from worrying. A group of teens might pressure a new friend to try the drug, and the new teen believes that since everybody else is doing it that it is socially acceptable. Teens will especially be affected because they are an easily persuaded audience and easily affected by their environment. If marijuana was legalized, a lot of the appeal would be lost because users would not be going against family and governmental beliefs. In the bigger picture Marijuana is a symbol of living in freedom and living the life.
