Session Goals, Research Goals • To identify best learning principles within CMS that can support deeper learning • To develop a rubric to help evaluate CMS-base learning designs with current CMS functionality • To identify what we need to know about institutional use (from all stakeholders) that will further CMS development.

  8. Creating the Container Think of a memorable learning experience you have had. Identify 3 things about the experience that made it effective for you. How can you describe the degree of effectiveness of this experience? How might these be applied to learning in a CMS? What kinds of things might prevent these from occurring?

  9. Describing the Container Small group activity: Take one row of the rubric and describe the optimum experience, what CMS functions might support the experience and the criteria you would use to evaluate the effectiveness of the experience

  10. Next Steps: Research • What data do we need to push the NGCMS forward? • Questions that need to be asked of stakeholders?
