Vision: All people of greater Racine are financially fitPurpose: Through education and a system of programs and support, the Financial Fitness Coalition of Racine helps families manage their finances with greater confidence and understanding in order to enjoy the improved quality of life that accompanies financial stability.

  5. Program Pillars 1. Tax Services: VITA Purpose: To provide free volunteer tax preparation assistance to low-income taxpayers in both urban and non-urban locations.

  6. Program Pillars 2. Alliance for Economic Inclusion Purpose: To improve financial quality of life for Racine residents by increasing the percentage of “banked” households and decreasing the disparity between minority and white households.

  7. Program Pillars 3. Education Purpose: To develop a comprehensive year round cycle of financial education for the Racine community.

  8. Successes • Formation of one workgroup resulting in leveraged resources, enhanced and increased services to more individuals. • Establishment of financial education workshops prior to tax preparation increasing the tax payers’ knowledge base. • Creation of the coalition increased banking partners’ involvement in educating the public. • Additional VITA site increased VITA services from 35 individuals in 2010 to over 150 individuals in 2011. • Increased volunteer involvement and VITA training
