Our Challenge – 2011-2012 Reduction in 2009-2010 State Aid - $811K Reduction in 2010-2011 State Aid - $1.71 million UFRSD 2010-2011 school budget cut by $4.91 million to meet final estimates by UF Township and Allentown Borough UFRSD 2011-2012 school budget cut by $1.44 million to achieve 2% cap level requirement $8.9 million in cuts for the past three years Cuts were addressed by: Elimination of administrative, teaching, secretarial, para-professional, custodial, and security positions (even time portions of people) Cutting extra-curricular activities, clubs, & school trips Freezing or reducing necessary equipment and supplies purchases One-time asset sales

  3. Who is UFREF? Mission Statement: The Upper Freehold Regional Education Foundation was founded in December 2005 to: “Promote excellence in education by funding projects that enhance learning and education in the Upper Freehold Regional School District.” The UFREF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

  4. Grants and Other Awards Summary (2006-2007 to 2010-2011) Awarded approximately $146,000 since 2007, including 61 grants, covering all three schools

We Need Your Help • Look what has been done with a small group of individuals • Focus on specific tasks / events • Trustees needed • Volunteers needed • Seeking broad community representation • Including Millstone • Looking for experience in areas such as fundraising, public relations, grant-writing, non-profit, and legal In addition to giving back, volunteering is a great way to meet new people and develop or enhance your skills!
