Content Area: Science • Grade Level: Second • Summary: The purpose of this assignment is to help the students understand where animals live. • Learning Objective: Given a three pictures of different habitats, the student will be able to place the animals in the correct habitat with 100% accuracy. • Content Standard: All life is interdependent and interacts with the environment. • Accomplishments: The student will be able to recognize different habitats and the animals that belong there. • GLE 0207.2.1 Investigate the habitats of different kinds of local plants and animals. • GLE 0207.2.2 Investigate living things found in different places.

  8. Let’s Review • Deserts are hot and dry! • Desert Animals have light colored skin that keeps them cool by reflecting sunlight. • Some animals that live in the desert are: snakes, desert foxes, jackrabbits and scorpions. • The squirrel makes it’s own shade by using it’s bushy tail.

  9. Let’s Review! Ocean: • Whales live in the ocean. • Some animals live at the bottom of the ocean, while some live at the top. • Turtles, fish and octopuses also live in the ocean. • Oceans cover most of the earth. • Seaweed are plants that live in the ocean. • Fish eat seaweed.

  10. Let’s Review! • A number of different types of animals live in the arctic, including polar bears, wolverines, squirrels, birds, walrus and seals. • The animals survive in the cold by the bushes of fur they have on their bodies. • So… Click the action box!
