Membership Mailings • Data can be provided on alumni in a given area upon request • …and upon receipt of a signed Confidentiality Agreement Form • Data provided = Full name, College, Matriculation Year and Postal and Email addresses • Data sent with terms outlining sending postal and electronic communications to alumni

  4. Membership Mailings • Be clear about objectives • Tailor to your audience • Include clear call-to-action

  5. Social Media • Set up Facebook and LinkedIn accounts to promote your events and grow your membership list • Use LinkedIn University Page to Identify Alumni in Your Area • UOAO increasingly promoting alumni group events through its social media channels

  6. Other Ideas • Appoint a Membership Officer to lead the group’s membership drive • Encourage peer-to-peer recruitment • Request announcement in International edition of OT Extra for new members tied to specific events • Arrange Freshers’ Parties – these will be the next generation of alumni group members • Publicise group events in local media

  7. Succession Planning • Include terms of office in Constitution for Group Leader and all Committee members • Identify future group leaders and volunteers • Provide development experiences to those who can move into key roles • The Alumni Office can advertise for volunteers in OT Extra • The North American and Alumni Offices can also further support you with this process if required
