Introducing Team ARRA • Responsible for reporting to FederalRecovery.gov • Prepare State Recovery Plan • Create Project Support Plan • Help Desk available M-F from 8am to 5pm uw-arra@uw.edu • Donna Parks (685-2960) • Cecilia Pittman (616-9009) • Sal Russo (685-4017) • Katherine Sidener (616-7664) • Janet Bissonette, Project Lead (685-1345)

Support Information • Website • www.washington.edu/research/gca/recovery/index.html • Communication efforts • Regular MRAM reports (like this one) • Email announcements • Quarterly reminders to submit reporting data elements • Clear consequences for non-reporting • Involvement of Dean’s offices • Training for PIs and administrators • Are we missing anything?

Training Sessions • Principal Investigator training sessions • September 2nd from 10-11am • September 16th from 11:30-12:30 • Administrator training sessions • September 1st from 3-4pm • September 15th from 12:30-1:30pm • Announcement and invitation sent separately to PIs & administrators for all submitted applications • Admins are encouraged to attend with their PIs

Training Sessions • Extend the invitation for training sessions • You are welcome to invite others in your group who are responsible for ARRA reporting or supporting PIs in completing this process • Adding or changing administrative contacts in the ARRA data mart will be possible in the future

What Remains the Same? • ARRA Teams continue to meet regularly • Technical solution • Communication and training • Team ARRA • Campus Advisory Group provide input on communication plans and deployment processes • Quarterly reporting required • First report October 2009 • PIs provide some data elements each quarter • Partnership is required to be successful !

Data Elements Provided by PIs • Quarterly reporting required (99 data elements) • First report October 2009 • PIs provide some data elements each quarter • Remaining data elements provided by databases or data entry by one of 5 offices • Reporting may be delegated to administrators but the PI will still be responsible for the data provided • Web form will undergo feedback sessions next week

  9. Reports, what reports? • FederalReporting.gov • Submit data elements direct to prime recipients • Office of the Governor • Weekly, monthly and quarterly • Reports for UW Leadership • Ongoing • Internal office reports • OSP, GCA, HR, Purchasing

Reminders: Research Projects • Research projects are identified by short title and budgets that begin with 20-xxxx • Reporting requirements still not yet finalized • Quarterly reporting • FederalReporting.gov • Office of the Governor • Internal Reports • Progress and financial reports • NIH announced annual progress reports and financial reports are still required

Reminders: Non-Research ARRA Projects • Non-research projects will bypass OSP/GCA • State appropriations for FY ’10 will contain some element of ARRA funding, however, reporting on those funds will be handled centrally • ARRA budgets for capital projects • 40-xxxx budget numbers • ChiakaAmadi, camadi@u.washington.edu or 206 221-7449 • ARRA budgets for non-capital projects • 21-xxxx budget numbers • Jeff Follman, jfollman@u.washington.edu or 543-3708

HR ARRA Support • Overall effort is to provide early assistance for filling jobs • Tools developed to assistant in review from Office of Compensation • Candidate Banks collecting applications and making referrals • Outreach – • Virtual job fair – alumni, UW Career Center contacts • Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association job fair • Highlighted information on Employment webpage • Virtual job fairs planned for early - mid September
