HOPE PROJECT 2007 Project Activities: • 6-week Nutrition Course • 2 hours, one evening per week • Teaching sessions and cooking demonstrations, reinforced by at-home cooking assignments • Field trip to grocery store to practice healthy food selection and reading of food labels • Teaching materials include: Healthy Hispanic Foods Resource Kit & Fruits & Veggies More Matters • Establish neighborhood walking group • Establish morning exercise class

  3. HOPE PROJECT 2007 Anticipated Accomplishments: • Health Education on: • Appropriate portion sizes • How to read food labels • How to prepare traditional Hispanic foods in healthy ways • Increase consumption of fruits & vegetables • Increase physical activity
