  1. What is the QEC’sNext Move?

  2. History • QEP = 4th year • ARTs in last year • Semi-annual CTIs • Strategic Partnerships • PDOpps

  3. I Know What You Did Last Summer

  4. Critical Thinking Conference • Patricia Payette @Univ. of Louisville • Making CT Stick at Your Institution • Change vs. Transformation • Name those tunes

  5. Change vs. Transformation • What is the difference? • Change is hard; transformation, harder! • CT transformation is a messy process • CT asks us to think about something very familiar to us in a new way

  6. Scope of Transformation • People • “Call for CT garners commitment, not compliance!” • Money • Sustainable, assessable, connected to outcomes • Infrastructure • Leverage existing structures • Give opps to plug into CT conversation

  7. Transformational Advice • Don’t wait for perfect conditions • Make your sometimes clunky, messy process transparent • Be prepared for criticism

  8. What does transformation through CT look like at SPC? • State - short poem • Elaborate - short song • Exemplify – 6’o clock news story • (N)egate – short skit • Illustrate – visual design This was a critical thinking activity using a variation of the SEEI, mixed with various learning styles .
