  3. Or talk to your school counselor Use scholarship finders (do not pay) Ask college departments, community members, chambers, foundations How to look for scholarships

  4. Use action words Start building resume as a freshman Update resume, update resume, update resume, update resume Include soft skills, work experience, awards, etc. Build your resume

  5. What do they know about you Provide them with deadlines, resume, and above statements Provide them with background of scholarship Determine your mentors (Letters of Recommendation)

  6. By December of Senior year, scholarships programs will want to know what school Narrow your college list

  7. Run drafts by your mentors Draft your goal statement

  8. Run drafts by your mentors Draft your statement of need

  9. Run drafts by your mentors Draft your statement of unique personality, strengths, leadership and accomplishments
