American Diabetes Association • National non-profit organization • Raises funds, awareness, and support for Diabetes • Diabetes is a chronic condition in which there are high levels of sugar in the blood, resulting from too little or a resistance to insulin • The ADA has a Western New York location which hosts two large fundraising events • Tour de Cure • Step Out Walk

Project Background • Group member Kimberly Stone volunteered over 100 hours with the ADA of Western New York • Several observations were made during this time • Multiple excel sheets had to be used for mailing lists and communication • No centralized volunteer tracking system • Limited opportunities for comparison • Very limited resources available to the non-profit organization

  4. Business Opportunity • Combines data that was previously multiple excel sheets • Creates customizable reports • More efficient communication • Better volunteer tracking • Reduces resource usage

  6. Conclusion • Centralizes participant information • Useful reports for mailing lists • Easily add new records • Reduces redundancy and time • Frees up resources for the true cause
