  2. Project Goals • To provide a local web site for BOCES adult learning center. • To provide with a virtual environment to reinforce educational content of BOCES programs. • Assist with educational objectives for community and students providing a link to selected web.

  3. Description • The project consist of a main web page (home) where users can initialize their search on topics related to educational content provided by BOCES adult learning centers and on the WWW. • The second level of web pages is oriented to specific content for each one of the main categories: • G.E.D.(GENERAL EDUCATION DIPLOM) in English and Spanish.

  4. Description • E.S.L.(English as a second language) content from the web and teacher’s materials. • New Americans- the citizenship page, content from the web and teacher’s materials. • Introduction to computers and the internet, content from the web and teacher’s materials.

  6. Justification for the Project • Community services. • SW BOCES is committed to provide educational services to the community. • Community participation is encouraged in different areas of educational content for adults in order to improve their current skills and civics.

  7. Justification for the Project • Material and content from instructors and the web needed a virtual setting: • ESL and GED programs are providing electronic material for assessment and lessons. Also content from the web related to ESL, exercises, media, etc. • Citizenship and other civics content available online and from instructors. • Basic computer skills and development.

Procedures • MS project software used to monitor all activities and cost for project. • We set up a pre-deployment rehearsal at the computer lab to get feedback from BOCES staff and students. • This project requires internet access at the computer lab and it is discussed and implemented separated from this project.
