  2. Aim of Residential Visit • Give pupils opportunities to communicate in Welsh beyond the classroom • To develop positive attitudes towards the Welsh language and culture • To develop independence and responsibility • Safe and enjoyable time to celebrate the end of their time at Cradoc School.

  3. What is Llangrannog? • Welsh Learner Residential Centre • Purpose built facilities – accommodation, catering, leisure centre, doctor surgery, halls • Activity centre • Over 20,000 visitors a year • http://www.urdd.org/en/llangrannog/home • Activities/bedrooms/food.

  4. Timetable of Typical Day • 8.00am Wake Up • 8.15am Breakfast • 9.15am – 12.45pm Activities • 12.45pm Lunch • 1.30pm – 5.00pm Activities • 5.00pm Tea • 5.30pm Potted Games, Quiz, Orienteering • 6.30pm Supper • 7.30pm Shop • 8.30pm Teacher led activities • 10.00pm Lights Out

  5. Activities • Language session, walk to beach, trampoline, ropes course, archery, toboganning, go karts, skiing, horses, story telling session, swimming

  6. Food • 4 meals a day – variety including vegetarian • Any Allergies / Special diet requirements. We must inform Llangrannog a week in advance • Drink. Cold drinks free of charge at all times. • Hot drinks can be purchased outside meal times

  7. Supervision • Mr Aldridge, Mrs Harley & Mrs Annette Morris will be taking the trip • Day groups – pupils will always be with at least one of these adults in the group • Activities led by Trained staff • All staff on site – CRB checked • Boys are on one floor, girls on another. • Staff stay in rooms on same corridors • No need for children to come out of rooms during night time • Night watchman

  8. Health & Safety • C.R.B. • Risk assessment • Barrier • Fire Safety (drill) • Accident book and forms • Qualified staff • First aid • Health forms • Medication • Doctor

  9. What to Pack? • Sleeping bag • Night clothes & toiletries • Spare clothes (not best) • Warm jumper/sweatshirts • 2 pairs of trousers/shorts • Rain coat • P.E. type clothes/swimming kit • Trainers/walking shoes/wellies • Gloves and long sleeved top for skiing/toboganning

  10. Other Information • Medical Information – medical form, medication, travel tablets, allergies • Money - £5 maximum – teachers to look after • Cold drinks available at all times • Not to pack - electronic items e.g. Ipod, mobile phone, hair straighteners, hair dryers • Aerosol cans

  11. Communication • Daily Report will be placed on the School website: • http://www.cradoc.powys.sch.uk • If there is anything wrong – parents will be contacted as soon as possible Transport • Pick up approximately 9am from the school on Monday morning • Return to School in time for the end of School on Wednesday 9th July.
