  1. NACE EASTERN AREA CONFERENCE TG 360 SP0 169 UPDATESummary of TG 360 Status

  2. STG 35 Balloting Pool has 315 STG member voters plus 76 others for a total pool of 391.

  3. Ballotclosed out September 1, 2009 with 70% of eligible voters submitting ballots. (minimum required is 50%).

  4. The STG Affirmative Vote was 124 or 65.4% (excluding abstaining [34]) A 2/3 vote or 66 2/3% is required to proceed with the document to consider and resolve negative votes.

  5. The ballot had a total of 112 of the 270 balloters submitting comments • Affirmative(35), • Negative(74) • Abstain(3). • The Task Group 360 members (now 21) will now review all the comments and consider changes to the document to address these comments.

  6. TG 360 must go back and work the document and go out again for a ballot!

  7. The Task Group is not resolving negatives.

  8. The target is to be out for ballot by January 2, 2010 and be addressing any negatives during Corrosion 2010 in San Antonio, Texas March 16th.

  9. SOME COMMENTS RECEIVED Comments can be viewed by going to the NACE website “Committees” “Online Balloting” “Results” ( on page 9 of Results) “Text Comments” and “File Comments”.

  10. Some that say they use 850 On and only have leaks where they are not protected • There are some that it is very apparent that they use 850 On and no consideration for voltage drop which is not in compliance with any of the criteria • There are some negatives that discuss references, a good one is definition of HVAC as heat, ventilating and air conditioning

  11. 6.2.4.1.1 The word “corrected” is not adequate without further clarification. I believe that this section should remain as is with IR "considered". • All of our leaks are caused by lack of adequate cathodic protection, shielding affects, interference, outside forces or internal corrosion. I suggest that you leave the -.85mV current applied criteria as is.

  12. Negative 8/31/2009 I want to thank the committee for their hard work on this issue.
