  10. Unfortunately, he was not to be either They can’t all be angels!

  11. Catherine gave birth to a daughter who lived… This time…

  13. Henry came to believe that God had cursed his marriage to Catherine and that a suitable heir (male) might never be born to the union.

  22. Although Henry cared for Catherine, he decided to divorce her and marry Anne so that a son would inherit his throne to provide a strong monarch for England.

  25. Afraid of making her powerful family angry, the Pope refused to grant Henry a divorce from Catherine!

  26. Unable to get a divorce, Henry broke away from the Catholic Church and formed his own church.

  27. He was made head of the new church (The Church of England) and had his marriage to Catherine annulled.

  28. He sent both Catherine and Mary away to an estate.

  29. Henry and Anne married

  30. The People in England hated Anne and the marriage was a difficult one.
