  1. Creating an ebook library

The eCOGSS (City of Greater Shepparton Schools) ebook lending facility experience Presented by Rachel Fidock eCOGSS Administrator Teacher Librarian Mooroopna Secondary College
  2. Creation stage - Who’s in? Expressions of interest sought. Formal and informal discussions. 2012 – six secondary schools in the Goulburn Valley are approached to be involved. Four choose to get on board. They are Goulburn Valley Grammar, Mooroopna Secondary College, Shepparton High School, and Wanganui Park Secondary College. http://ecogss.wheelers.co/
  3. Support from all sides http://ecogss.wheelers.co/ Approval from administrators and the green-light from the IT department. Project success depends on the collaboration of all involved. Who to choose to provide the ebook lending platform?
  4. www.wheelers.co.nz Meetings were undertaken via Skype with representatives from Wheelers, Library managers, and Administrators. Competitive pricing. No cost to start a shared platform. Approachable and supportive. Patient with queries and concerns. Darren is a Wheeler’s representative here today.
  5. Agree on a model http://ecogss.wheelers.co/ Each school has their own account, chooses their own ebooks, and pays for them. $1 per patron. How many ebooks can be borrowed and for how long?
  6. Sharing the load eCOGSS administrator changes schools per year. The administrator is responsible for sending student and staff usernames and passwords to Wheeler’s, and organising the formal collaboration of the group. This includes quarterly meetings. One school library team is the main purchaser of ebooks per term. One school library team creates a DVD of book trailers to share with the group per term. http://ecogss.wheelers.co/
  7. Support http://ecogss.wheelers.co/ Need to continue to support each other. Share ideas. Look to the future.
