  2. Practitioner Nurse A nurse practitioner, also called an advanced practice nurse, is licensed to function at a higher level than a registered nurse. Nurse practitioners can diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries, order medications, and order, perform and interpret specialized diagnostic tests such as lab work or X-rays. Medicare and some private insurance companies allow nurse practitioners to bill for their services.

  3. Work settings A nurse practitioner might work in a hospital or clinic setting, in a group practice, or as an independent practitioner, clinical faculty college university.

  4. Nurse Practitioner Salaries Job postings on Indeed.com show the annual income of a nurse practitioner as of June 2012 ranged from $52,000 to $122,000. If the nurse practitioner worked a standard 40-hour week, those salaries would translate to $58.65 and $25.00 an hour, respectively. Out look 26% (Faster than average)

  5. Unions There are many union NYSNA- Founded in 1901 it’s been around for 112 They have been able to continue to be an advocate for preventing workplace violence and for helping RNs who may become victims, McLean encouraged RNs to have the courage to demand that violence not be part of the job. Problems recently the topic of mandatory vaccination of healthcare workers against influenza has been hotly debated without resolution.

  6. Continued Health care is a service the cost is going to school for six to eight years so it cost time and the cost of tuition is about 100,000. No outsource you can move to different locations a program which allows you to travel. No technology can’t take over. Competition is being excepted to grad school. No prior training needed. Doctorate degree

  7. Chance of Advancment In some ways, nurse practitioners are at the top of their profession. They may be promoted to jobs such as assistant program director or director. Some may go into the business side of health care. They may take management jobs in ambulatory, acute, and chronic care services. Some work for large health care corporations in areas such as health planning and development, marketing, and quality assurance.

  8. Postsecondary Teacher Responsible for instructing students on the emergence of global and American ideals and cultural heritage. Helps students understand and exercise his rights, privileges, and responsibilities as a citizen.

  9. Unions There are many unions one of them is the NEA is one of them. Founded since 1857 so it’s been around for 156 years. Its been able to advocate for education professionals and to unite members and the nation to fulfill the promise of public education to prepare every student to succeed in a diverse and interdependent world; as well as concerning itself with the wage and working condition issues common to other labor unions.

  10. Problems recently At the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) big corporations write and sponsor free-market policies alongside state legislators. These bills follow ALEC’s simple formula: Defund. Deregulate. Privatize. Profit. Recently, over 40 public facing corporations have pulled their support from ALEC due to their harmful policies including Stand Your Ground laws and restricting Voting Rights.

  11. Outlook Job outlook 17% (About as fast as average) I would be providing the service of teaching at the cost of my time of getting a Ph.D. which takes eight years to become a history major. It also cost the money portion of going to school 17,000.

  12. Continued Teaching will not be outsourced they have online classes now but people will always have the need to learn from a person its not only that they are teaching school lessons their teaching life skills. I don’t see technology taking over for those reasons. They generally don’t make you relocate unless you have done something wrong. Competition would be getting in school and getting a job in the field.

  13. Average Wage Educational requirements vary with the subject taught and the type of educational institution. Most commonly, postsecondary teachers must have a Ph.D. However, a master's degree may be enough for some postsecondary teachers at community colleges no prior training required. $62,050 per year is the average pay Exceptional teachers with advanced degrees may advance to supervisory positions after some years, but the average teacher stays in the classroom. Periodic raises usually depend on the school district budget and union negotiations.

  14. Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Diagnostic medical sonographers use special imaging equipment that directs sound waves into a patient’s body (in a procedure commonly known as an ultrasound, sonogram, or echocardiogram) to assess and diagnose various medical conditions.

  15. Unions As far as I can find there aren’t any unions. Work place environment most diagnostic medical sonographers work in hospitals. Some work in physicians’ offices or imaging clinics. Sonographers may be on their feet for long periods and may need to lift or turn disabled patients.

  16. Outlook 44% (Much faster than average) It’s a service providing health care. At the cost of time and going to school from anywhere to 1-4 years. The cost of money for schooling 1,650

  17. Average Wage Diagnostic medical sonographers need formal education, such as an associate’s degree or a postsecondary certificate. Many employers also require professional certification. Average wage $64,380 per year $30.95 per hour

  18. Chance of Advancement There are some advancement opportunities in this occupation. Those who have a bachelor’s degree or make a commitment to continue their education will see the best opportunities. Diagnostic medical sonographers who are trained to work on different aspects of the body, especially outside of obstetric (pregnancy) work, are usually viewed as authoritative sources of expertise. This can result in better pay and a possible move into the ranks of management. No training or prior experience required.

  19. Chance of being Outsourced People always have to control and read the scan machines can’t take over nor do I think there is a chance that it can be outsourced the health field will always be around. They usually don’t move you unless you ask for a transfer.
