WS-I – doporuční, profiles, tools • Samotná specifikace obvykle nestačí • nepřesná, konflikt s jinou specifikací / verzí • Poskytuje doporučení, návody a nástroje • profile – sada specifikací určité verze, říká jak je používat dohromady • demo aplikace – demonstruje interoperabilitu profilu • testovací nástroje – testují shodu implementace s profilem
