  1. What Would You Do? An Introduction to The Crucible

  2. It is 2008 in Harrisville New York

  3. Because it is the middle of the winter, you and a group of friends are bored and try to find ways to have fun.

  4. You decide to go into the woods to pass time

  5. While there you build a fire and start to throw things into it

  6. You burn an old chair and a bunch of down tree limbs

  7. All of a sudden

  8. An old man appears and asks if you would like to hear a tale

  9. He is obviously not from Harrisville and you are curious but afraid.

  10. He tells you about the foreign country he is from and tells you that all Americans are evil

  11. You are starting to think this guy is a freak when all of a sudden the cops show up.

  12. The strange man runs away, but leaves his things

  13. You and all of your friends are arrested

  14. You are locked up in the county jail on the charge of terrorism

  15. In the bag the man left behind was a plan to blow up the military barracks on Fort Drum where the soldiers waiting to go to Iraq are being housed

  16. The plan includes help from several teenagers- You and your friends.

  17. You are interrogated one at a time

  18. You are asked over and over

  19. Are you a terrorist? Are you a terrorist? Are you aterrorist? Are you a terrorist?

  20. You tell your story over and over- but from somewhere down the hall comes shouts

  21. One of your friends has confessed

  22. You are thrown back into jail to await a trial

  23. In the jail you notice that many of the kids you know from school who were not at the fire are also there

  24. Over 100 of you

  25. The news spreads quickly

  26. All the town is talking about it

  27. James Willin, your classmate and friend, confessed and is now accusing all the teenagers in town of being terrorists

  28. Harrisville is all over the news and the rumors say that terrorism will not be tolerated in America

  29. All who are found guilty will be sentenced to life in military prison

  30. Back in jail you hear more rumors.

  31. There is a way out!

  32. Confession!

  33. The D.A. has made a deal with all the accused teenagers

  34. Confess to terrorism and you will go free.

  35. There is only one catch

  36. You have to confess on national television and forever be known as a terrorist, the most hated type of traitor in America

  37. What will you do?

  38. Proclaim you innocence and live in jail for the rest of your life or confess to a crime you did not commit and live in shame?

  39. Your friends starting to crack under the pressure

  40. They say living as a known terrorist is better than life in prison

  41. Some confess, some refuse

  42. What would you do?
