  2. What do Superlatives DO? • Show the highest “degree” in which an adjective can modify the noun. Example: positive comparativesuperlative good better best pretty prettier prettiest/very pretty ferocious more most/ very ferocious ferocious

  3. How about the Latin? An adjective with –issim- or -rim- plus the 1st and 2nd declension endings Example: Positive laetus, laeta, laetum pulcher, pulchra, pulchrum Superlative laet-issim-us laetissima laetissimum pulcher-rim-us pulcherrima pulcherrimum

  5. Mercator est tristis. Senex est tristissimus.

  6. Canis erat ferox. Leo erat ferocissimus

  7. Amicus fabulam longissimam narravit.
