The Role of vpa?? • “Backbone” of the Club, the officer there to support others • Is in charge and oversees the internal administration of the club and board officers (HBIC) • Deals with any paperwork that must be done for the club (Room Meeting Reservation) • Each club varies on the expectations of VPA; however, general consensus is the administration of appointed board and dealing with paperwork

Appointed Board! • Depending on your Executive Board officers’ decisions, will determine what positions will be available in your appointed board • You are in charge of appointed board and be the communication line between appointed board and executive board • Develop methods of contacting and checking up on your appointed board officers (Phone, In Person Dates, Texting, AIM, Skype) • Also, if your club implements committees for chairs, then VPA is in charge of communicating with the committee heads and making sure the committees are active • Some clubs produce monthly forms for appointed board to fill out to constantly update and check up on officers. • Create a contact roster

Board Meetings! • VPA is in charge of running board meetings • Produce agenda for board meeting on what to talk about • Plan ahead on what needs to be accomplished • Make sure everyone is staying on task • Helpful Tips for Organization and Running Board Meeting • Whenisgood.net, Schedule your meeting times since it allows you to plot out time conflicts through a scheduler online • Make yourself a binder or calendar that organizes your time and events • Delegate work off of yourself to other officers, so the workload isn’t to heavy and so other officers get the experience

  6. Paperwork • School Administration and Paperwork: every school varies on their policies; however, you need to know these policies • Educate yourself on your school’s policies and rules • Complete paperwork for room reservation, registration of org, or other events • Double check on finances and budget: School account requires two signatures to withdraw money from account • For District events, the VPA and treasurer work together to complete the registration and paperwork for events like DLSSP or DCON

  7. Being a good board member • Be a Role Model! • Always be on time and attend board and general meetings • Be in communication of whole board and help out officers that need help • Be willing to pick up the slack of other officers • Be the liaison between E-Board and A-Board • Lead by Example!

Words of Wisdom • For this position, it is up to you on whether or not how much work you put into the position. • Do not procrastinate, PLAN AHEAD! • There will be situations that arise and you will be busy, do not feel free to ask for help and delegate work to others • Be Flexible and Open to Anything! With this position, anything can happen. • Open Line of Communication
